Terms & Conditions
Plain-English terms for using this website and working with DJS Digital — including your statutory right to cancel and how refunds work.
Last updated: 20 September 2026
About these terms
These terms apply to the DJS Digital website and to website design services provided by DJS Digital, a sole trader based at Beckenham, Kent, UK. By using this website or accepting a quote, you agree to these terms. If you have any questions about them, please get in touch before proceeding.
Quotes and how we agree
Every project starts with a free conversation about what you need. I then provide a fixed written quote covering the scope of work, what's included, the price, and the timescale. The quote, once accepted by you (by email reply or by paying any agreed deposit), forms our contract.
Anything outside the agreed scope — extra pages, features, or revisions beyond those included in the quote — is quoted separately before any extra work begins, so there are never surprise charges.
What I need from you
You're responsible for providing the content, images, and information the project needs, and for confirming you have the right to use any materials you supply. Timelines assume content and feedback arrive promptly — if approvals or materials are delayed, the delivery date moves accordingly.
I also ask you to review the work at the agreed stages. Projects that stall awaiting feedback for more than 30 days may be paused, and restarting may require a new agreed schedule.
Timescales
Most small business websites are built in a couple of days from start to launch, once content and approvals are in place. The specific timescale for your project is the one set out in your quote, as it depends on the scope of the work.
Payments
Payment terms — including any deposit, staged payments, and due dates — are set out in your quote. Unless agreed otherwise, work begins once any deposit is paid. All prices are as stated in your quote; there are no hidden charges.
Your right to cancel (UK consumers)
If you're a consumer, you have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days of entering into it without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
If you ask me to start work before the 14-day period ends, you can waive your cancellation rights for the work performed — I'll always confirm this in writing with you first. If you cancel within 14 days after waiving, you'll pay for the work already carried out, pro-rata, but nothing more.
Refunds
My refund policy is straightforward:
- If you cancel before any work has begun, you receive a full refund of everything you've paid.
- If you cancel part-way through a project, you receive a pro-rata refund for work not yet carried out, based on the stages in your quote.
- Once a website has been delivered in full and handed over, the statutory 14-day cancellation right no longer applies to content made to your specification — but if something isn't as agreed, tell me and I'll fix it as my first priority.
- If you have a care plan, you can cancel it at any time; any refund for unused whole months is handled as set out in your plan agreement.
Intellectual property
Once the project is paid for in full, the finished website design and its custom code are yours. Third-party items included in the build (such as licensed fonts, stock imagery you've supplied, or software libraries) remain governed by their own licences.
With your permission, I may display completed work in my portfolio. If you'd rather I didn't, just say — that's fine.
Liability
I take reasonable care in everything I deliver, but I'm not liable for indirect or consequential losses (for example, lost profits arising from website downtime or third-party services such as hosting or email providers). My total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you've paid for the project concerned.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If something goes wrong, email me first — I'd much rather fix a problem than argue about one, and every complaint gets a personal reply.
